Budget Mess

We asked for your opinions on the state budget mess.

Unbalanced budget? It's too easy to blame an inept governor. Start by firing, recalling every democrat and some republican legislaters that got us into this fiscal mess.Californians, get over this entitlement bug fueled by borrow, borrow, borrow. Next, cut off all stae benefits to illegals. That will save 4-5 billion dollars more. -- John

This is a good thing. The Legislature is out of touch and it isn't until their pockets are completely empty that they then ask the question "what will we do?" It's not that they want to...it's that they now have no choice. Whatever it takes! --Vince

I feel the protestors are some of the very people to blame for the budget crisis. We have too many free-loaders, particularly illegal aliens, expecting taxpayer-funded entitlements from cradle-to-grave, as if there's an unlimited amount of money to take care of their needs. It's time for the legislators to look after the taxpayers to ensure our quality of life isn't eroded any more than it already has. -- Greg

Good for Arnold, he is finally acting like a Governor. The only hope this state has is to destory the unions, and stop paying for every so called need someone comes up with. Democrats can't give enough money away, but the keep trying. -- James

i think that they should come up with a budget that does not hurt the people of sandiego that are in need -- Arturo

The Governor is holding the state hostage. Why shouldn't oil companies pay their share? The cigarette tax makes sense as does the 15$ license fee proposed by the Legislature. I don't know how the multi-millionaire Governor can look in the mirror given the suffering that is befalling residents of this state. He wants the poor and middle class to pay the price for his rigid opposition to sensible taxes. -- Rachel

The answer is redistricting. Without a competitive election, we will never get our views represented in the budget. -- Matt

With my penchant for over simplication, my opinion is that the unions have over priced themselves.
