We asked you about the not guilty verdict in the Officer Frank White case.
It would have been stupid if the jury had found Frank White guilty. We pay for officers like him to get trained and protect us from people like Silva. Silva was threat to the public and her son while driving under influence and Officer White did what any one would have done, defend himself and others. If Silva had been acquitted, the general message to poeple like Silva would had been a very wrong one and would put the public even more at danger. -- Aldo
I can't believe officer Frank White was found not guilty. I think if he was on duty and wearing a uniform than his actions may have been justified but as an off duty copy in civilian clothing he would have been better off calling it in and staying keeping his distance instead of trying to be the hero and injuring a child. -- Mike
If i was a police officer and someone was driving there 3000lbs bullet at me, I would have shot also. The bottom line is that I am going home each day. I dont second guess what the officer did. If our justice system was more stern to people driving under the infulence of drugs or alcohol this problem would have nevere happened. She clearly was not in her right mide and should have never been driving. She caused all of the problems for this fine officer who protects us on a daily bases. -- Matta
I think it was great that the police officer was not guilty of the shooting, she was a hazard to anyone driving on the road and putting her child in jeopardy. Anyone who thinks that an automobile in the the hands of a drunk and drug addict isn't a lethal weapon is like an ostrich with their head in the sand. I would hope all SDPD officers are happy with the verdict. -- James
I believe that officer white abused his given privledge and is using the police department to cover his rear. he blatently shot at a women and her son, who was hit two times in the incedent. this is uncalled for and people need to do something. -- Jose
The biggest travesty is the fact that the district attorney decided to press charges on Mr. White. The assailant was drunk, high on meth, and engaged in road rage with her eight year old in the car. Yet he wants to go after the officer. Nice. Can we get rid of this guy? -- Vince
You showed the wife crying, traumatized by the event, but what about the child? Will he be able to have trust in policemen from now on? It is unfair that he got a not guilty verdict. It makes you think who can get away with doing certain things and who can't. -- Clare
I'm glad to see SD Police officer White was cleared. I hope he's able to get back to work, and know that there will be others who feel justice was not served. But, road rage is something that is becoming more common that we realize and it's had to predict what others might do. -- Greg
NOT GUILTY = That a cop once again can shoot anyone they want without worry. Even an 8 yr old child... Must be nice to never have to worry about getting in trouble because you carry a gun and a badge. -- Ken
In regard to Frank White's case, it is obviously a biased case based on this man's position. Where does one get away with shooting an unarmed person unless of course you're a cop. It's laughable that we criticize other governments about their corruption. When we cut loose cops that shoot unarmed women and children. -- Claudia
