Obama's Speech

We asked your opnion on tonight's speech by Barack Obama.

I am a registered Republican female who will vote for the most qualified candidate for President who can empower Americans to take control of their destiny and provide the vision and leadership to return the US to a position of respect in the global community and repair a damaged economy. Barrack Obama hit a home run tonight.  --  Eileen, Coronado

I can't wait for Obama to be President! After he lowers taxes on 95% of all Americans and reads the 50,000 page federal budget, maybe he can find Jimmy Hoffa and cure cancer!! This guy is going to be great, as long as you don't look too close. I can't wait for the "pep rallies" to end! I was not feeling super strong about McCain, until tonite. At least he is realistic!!!  --  Rich, Valley Center

It is mind blowing to me how deep we are into a learned helplessness experiment. Someone offers us a ray of hope and many are so quick to throw it away. I have not doubt in my mind that McCain supporters were heavily encouraged to call in the DNC to spin the outcome. However Obama continues to prove himself with every speech and every dig into his history. His demand for change is not new to him, just our knowledge of it. No matter how much people want to justify their belief that this kind of change is just not possible, their points are continuously disproved by his previous work and clearly laid future plans.  --  Sharon, San Diego

No matter what - the color of your skin or your political beliefs - today was a great day to be an American. We heard from Barack Obama a historic, beautiful, and emotionally moving speech, asking us to dream of a better American future.  --  Luis, North Park

The speech by Senator Obama was very on point and hit home on all major issues. This should have given all undecided voters a chance to see Barack Obama is not only a charismatic speaker, but also a Presidential candidate with a real and viable plan for the future of America!  --  Ronald, San Diego

Words are just words, nothing more, nothing less. Actions are what matters, and his actions have been limited to none so far.  --  Stuart, UTC

The continued theme of the Obama campaign is change from the "failed policies of the Bush administration". There is a continued failure to address the "failed action" of the Democrat controlled congress to counteract them. So the question is, "What are we getting? Four more years of bad policies or failed actions?" Instead of campaigning, why aren't the candidates leading congress to action to address the problems this country faces.  --  Richard, La Mesa

A supposed "agent of change," Senator Obama gave a speech this evening that sounded strikingly identical to numerous political speeches that have come before his. Slowly but surely, the slick-looking exterior of the Obama campaign is being stripped away, exposing the interior as nothing more than the same old tired Liberal ideas of the past.  --  Lawrence, San Marcos

Obama impresses me as a visionary; I study presidents as a hobby. Teddy Roosevelt was a better president than Theodore by most standards. McCain is a Teddy Roosevelt; He has earned Character; Obams is questionable.  --  John, Vista *

* Study a little harder, John.  Teddy Roosevelt is Theodore Roosevelt.
